Job Title: Data Engineer Quantexa Delivery 
Location: London, UK
Travel/Relocation/Remote: Hybrid 3 days / Week

  • Join Capgemini's Financial Crime Compliance Analytics team in London as a Data Engineer, Quantexa Delivery.
  • Support Quantexa implementation for clients, focusing on compliance and technology integration.
  • Work on various projects within Compliance Analytics, including Implementation, Model Validation, Tuning and Optimization, Data Governance, and Issue Validation.
  • Collaborate with a team of data scientists and engineers to solve complex compliance issues.
  • Utilize scripting languages like Scala, Spark, Python, and SQL to develop custom data solutions.
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines within the Quantexa environment.
  • Assist in orchestrating ETL/ELT pipelines and implementing data quality checks.
  • Communicate progress effectively with stakeholders and document work done.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Leverage data to make strategic decisions, contribute to client engagements, and support business development activities.
     

Key Responsibilities

•    Work as part of a team of data scientists and data engineers, helping solve complex compliance issues from strategic roadmap to implementation.
•    Develop custom data solutions as needed using scripting languages like Scala, Spark, Python, and SQL.
•    Build, and maintain scalable, efficient source to surveillance data pipelines within the Quantexa environment.
•    Aid in the orchestration of ETL/ELT pipelines
•    Implement data quality checks and monitoring processes to ensure the integrity and reliability of data.
•    Proactively identify and address data quality issues and performance bottlenecks Write efficient, clean, and well documented code for data pipelines.           
•    Track and document work done and communicate progress with relevant users in a timely manner.
•    Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders to enable open dialogue, win trust and become a trusted business partner. 
•    Maintain an effective professional network to stay informed of developments within the industry.
 

Knowledge & Skills

•    Proven big data experience, either from an implementation or a data science perspective.
•    Experience in working in an Agile environment.
•    Expert knowledge of at least one big data technology such as Spark, Hadoop, or Elasticsearch.
•    A strong coding background in either Java, Python or Scala
•    Consulting or business facing skills and a desire to work with customers
•    Strong SQL and Excel skills.
•    Familiarity with BI tools e.g., Tableau, Looker.
•    Experience with sanctions screening, payment filtering, and transaction monitoring systems.
•    Prior experience working as a Quantexa Data Scientist or Data Engineer.
•    Deep understanding of data structures, relational databases, and data mapping exercises.
•    Ability to resolve technical issues, understand technical architectures at a basic level.
•    Prior involvement in data-specific projects, with exposure to fraud, financial crime, customer insight or compliance-based environments that utilize detection.
•    Strong verbal and written (English) communication skills required.
•    Ability to work in teams of various sizes, including cross-functional teams.
