Job Description

• MS SQL Server DBA (L3 / L2 Level Support for SQL Server): 2022 / 2019 / 2017 / 2016 / 2014
• Hands on technical experience with AG replica failover/Failback and HA-DR Solutions (Log shipping / Replication / Mirroring).
• Experience in Database Administration including Installation, Configuration, User Access Management, Backup/Recovery, Monitoring and Performance Tuning, Space Utilization.
• Troubleshoot issues related to SQL Backup – Restore, DB performance, Shrink DB files, Blocking and deadlock,
• SQL Server Build including Post QA checks.
• SQL Server Upgradation / Patching on Always ON / Standby servers.
• Perform system health checks and provide recommendation reports.
• PowerShell programming experience preferred (would like to automate sql installs, and other processes)
• DB maintenance plans, Plan and Perform Patching (pre and post checks), Server Decommissioning
• Administration and refinement for Monitoring tools: Review, revise, and update monitoring thresholds and alerts to enable infrastructure stability.
• Installation/Upgradation/Migration of SQL Servers.
• Apply any patches or service packs for SQL Server.
• Configure High Availability/Disaster recovery solutions.
• Configure automated alerts to send a mail to team if any issues.
• Work on incidents ,change tickets and problem tickets.

• Troubleshoot always-on, replication, mirroring, locking issues, including deadlocks, blocking, lock timeouts and fix them.
• Join bridge calls to troubleshoot and fix P1(SEV1) and P2 (SEV2) incidents.
• Responsible for physical database architecture and design, capacity planning, development, performance tuning, implementation
• Conduct T- SQL Code Reviews to ensure coding standards, best practices and avoid potential performance issues.
• Attend CAB ( Change Advisory Board) meeting and get proper approvals from product owners to implement DB changes.
• Document operational or newly engineered solutions properly to educate and inform the clients and DBAs from the various levels of the organization.
• Work on Writing custom stored procedures, t-sql queries , powershell scripts , views, and triggers based on requirements for DB maintenance and automate tasks.
• Work on writing technical and RCA(Root Cause Analysis) documentation.
• Join bridge calls to troubleshoot and fix P1(SEV1) and P2 (SEV2) incidents.
• work on performance tuning like provide suggestions to crete indexes and tune stored procedures.
• Troubleshoot recurring problems and fix them permanently.
• Conduct DB DR Drill activity , ensure to bring the DR site online if any outage at Primary site.
• Work on prepare and create standardize operational and process documents.
