What you’ll do?

  • Understand products both from business operational usage and from the technical capabilities and make recommendations that will improve the product usability or capabilities.
  • Facilitate meetings with business partners and IT partners to discuss and document business requirements for new product features or enhancements.
  • Develop detailed product requirements documents.
  • Create user stories that will meet the needs of implementation of the product deliverables.
  • Communicate with IT and business project managers to align on status for reporting purposes.
  • Lead sprint planning sessions.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups to provide updates on user stories as needed.
  • Coordinate and run user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure acceptance criteria is met by working with development teams to ensure stories are ready for release before allowing work to be completed.
  • Act as the customer or proxy customer during development activities.
  • Lead user story prioritization and grooming.
  • Work closely with Product Managers to define business objectives to the product team.
  • Work closely with developers by providing them with all necessary information so it is clear what needs to be built, tested, validated, etc.
  • Work closely with developers and Product Managers on release communications including product updates to be released.
  • Monitor sprint progress (velocity) by working within Agile tools (Jira).
  • Attend post-mortem meetings after each sprint cycle ends (retrospective).
  • Make recommendations based on lessons learned.
  • Identify areas of improvement within the team.
  • Track action items identified during post-mortem meetings.

  • Create, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog.
  • Ensure the backlog is visible, transparent, and clear to all stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders and the development team.
  • Gather requirements and feedback from stakeholders to inform product development.
  • Work with the development team to plan sprints.
  • Ensure that the team understands the items in the backlog to the level needed.
  • Define and communicate the acceptance criteria for product features.
  • Validate that the product meets these criteria before release.
  • Conduct market research and user testing to inform product decisions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitor products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Leadership: Ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams.
