Scada (with Ignition) Support Engineer – Remote position (in Mexico)

YOUR CONTRIBUTION:

  • Design, configuration and development of oil & gas-oriented applications.
  • Develop detailed designs, implement, troubleshoot and test SCADA and integration solutions that meet project requirements.
  • Design and develop features in Ignition SCADA system and build integration with other systems through Ignition platform.
  • Work with several stake holders to gather and understand requirements to design and develop solutions that meet project goals within time.
  • Monitor systems performance and identify potential issues before they occur.
  • Ensure efficient and reliable operations of SCADA systems, monitoring real-time data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize process control and data management.
  • Define functional requirements for SCADA solutions and interfaces through stand-up meetings.
  • Manage and provide data access/communication between field devices and SCADA system.
  • Configure, program, and deploy SCADA software components including HMI´s, alarm windows and historians.
  • Document system configurations and changes made to support system operations.

 

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Bachelor´s degree in computer science, mechatronics or related.
  • 3+ years of experience developing and supporting Ignition SCADA systems.
  • Hands on experience with Perspective and Vision modules; working with templates and modify accordingly to requirements.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (Python or Java). Proven experience with tag event scripts and gateway event scripts.
  • Project, design, and development experience with tags (tag groups, UDT´s, tag history provider, alarming), scripting, Perspective and Vision.
  • Experience in template and UDT development and troubleshooting.
  • Gateway administration experience: OPC connections, modbus application protocols, device protocol experience (Example ABB TotalFlow), database connection, MQTT configuration, user administration, gateway diagnosis, active directory integration, SSL configuration, gateway upgrades and backups.
  • Advanced English Proficiency.
  • Strong Problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Nice to have:

  • Experience with SQL queries, preferred.
  • Ignition Core Certification or Ignition Gold Certification is a plus, but not required.
  • Hands on experience Ignition Edge and Cirrus Link module, preferred.
